MOLYKOTE® G-n Metal Assembly Paste is a heavy-duty, extreme-pressure lubricating paste designed for metal assembly, running-in, press fitting, threaded connections and other applications where high loads, friction, galling or fretting wear are concerns. The mineral-oil-based formulation contains molybdenum disulfide (MoS₂) and white solid lubricants to provide low friction and high load-carrying capability.

MOLYKOTE G-n helps reduce frictional forces during assembly and running-in while helping protect metal surfaces against galling, seizing, fretting wear and corrosion. Its low coefficient of friction can also help reduce the torque required to disassemble threaded fasteners.

How to Apply

Apply MOLYKOTE G-n Metal Assembly Paste as a thin, uniform film to clean contact surfaces. The paste can be applied by brushing or by burnishing with a clean, lint-free cloth. Avoid excessive application.

For threaded fasteners, follow the applicable manufacturer's or maintenance manual's torque requirements. DuPont notes that when MOLYKOTE G-n is used on threaded fasteners, mineral-oil torquing specifications should be reduced by one-third to help avoid overtightening.

MOLYKOTE G-n Metal Assembly Paste is not recommended for use in pressure lines or grease guns.

Storage and Shelf Life

When stored in the original container under the manufacturer's recommended storage conditions, MOLYKOTE G-n Metal Assembly Paste has a usable life of 60 months from the date of manufacture. An oil layer may form on the surface during storage and can be mixed back into the product by stirring.
